I don't want a burger, but.......
Please help me narrow my search for the right receiver. Here's the features I'm looking for in order of importance:
1. 5.1 or better Surround capable
2. 2 or more "Rooms" / "Zones" whatever you want to call it with amp out (Don't want to run powered speakers on any zone) (Don't want just A+B switch) I want to be able to watch TV on "Zone 1" and listen to music on "Zone 2" independent of each other.
3. Ready for all the new stuff that's coming out... HDTV, etc.
4. Realistic price under $500 USD.
Here's what I plan to run on day 1: Analog TV, DVD/VCR, Windows MediaCenter (for PVR and MP3's, etc.) connected to Polk Audio 6800 5.1 Surround set of speakers and a pair of Polk outdoor speakers on another zone.
Zone 1 will be for watching TV/DVD/PVR or listening to MP3's / CD's, etc. on the surround sound set of speakers.
Zone 2 will be for listening to music outside and driven by the MediaCenter PC or FM only.
Of course, I would like to comprehend newer technologies like HDTV later on and would like to make sure that whatever I choose will do that, but I really don't know what to even ask here.
Hopefully from what I've listed if you've read this far, you understand what it is I'm trying to do and can help me define my questions so that I can narrow my search.
Thanks in advance.
