Nakamichi AV-500 Surround sound

I bought a Nakamichi AV-500 receiver from ebay a few years back. I'm trying to hook up my existing speakers to keep the best surround sound possible for DVD movies.

My current speakers are : a pair of tower Infinity RSR speakers
a pair of bookshelf Advent - Baby Avent speakers

I have ordered already a center channel speaker for this setup.

I currently have all my speakers connected to both front A B connections.

My questions are: should I change the B (Baby Advent Speakers) to the Rear Speaker connections on my receiver for a better sound? Do I need to buy new speakers for the Rear Speaker connection? (I'd rather not)

I also have a Sony DVD/VCR box. Should I connect it to the DVD 5.1 input. Does in matter if just connect to the cd input ?

thanks

tony

Hope this helps.

Nakamichi AV-500

Can anybody advise me what speakers to get with this amp?
What CD or DVD player?
Do you recommend KEF speakers?

Primarily for audio, I can not wait to plug this amp in.
