NAD T763/T773-are these any good today?

Hi,
I am looking for an AV receiver and after hearing all of the Japanese makers as well as NAD, I believe the NADs are more musical than all of them. For movies, I don't plan to use any DSP mode but just the Dolby Digital/DTS mode which is offered in the NAD models offcourse and therefore don't see any advantage in Yamaha's/Denon's/Onkyo's DSP modes. However, the NADs are not so cheap and lack the lip sync feature which bothers me for future use of an LCD screen.
NADs support claims that no complaints were heard about the lip sync's lack and that they think it shouldn't be a problem. However, they claim that it will not be upgradeable via firmware in the future, so I guess only their future models will have this feature.
I need your advice on what to do about that. I love the sound of the NADs and currently I believe I won't face any problem with lip sync as I am using a regular CRT TV. However, I don't want to replace the receiver when I replace my TV in a year or so.
Does anyone of you use an NAD receiver with a plasma/LCD screen and have lip sync problems?
Thanks a lot,
Ariel.

I've owned the NAD T773 for almost 2 years now. I bought it for exactly the same reason you are leaning towards it to. It is just so "MUSICAL" in it's sound. I listened to DENON, YAMAHA, & HK receivers & none of them compared sound wise to the NAD - IMO. The T773 has tons of power - 110 watts x 7 & 145 watts x 2 in stereo mode & it's decoding is also outstanding for any kind of DVD you can throw at it. It is just an awesome receiver. I don't have a clue what you're talking about in regards to a lip sync issue. I have a SONY 50' GRAND WEGA LCD & have not experienced anything along those lines. I think maybe a DVD player would be more suspect for the lip sync issue. Where did you hear that the NAD had a problem w/ lip sync? Sounds bogus to me. I would not hesitate to recommend the T773 to anyone!!!! Hope this helps.

Nads are great receivers IMO. They are a little pricey for the features you get but like you I never really use very many DSP modes, but I do use DPL IIx Movies for my CDs. Nad has always had a great sound to them, and I associate the name with higher end prducts (although to many they are still considered a mid-fi brand). I have a Marantz receiver but I would have considered NaAD if I had the money at the time the purchase was made. As for lip-sync problems that is not just a NAD issue, but the issue of many receivers. If you can adjust the time in ms then you should be able to take care of lip-sync issues manually. The people that I've seen talk about this issue the most are using LCD projectors on 90" plus screens. THat doesn't mean that there isn't an issue, just that it might not be as wide spread as many seem to think it is. I am by no means an expert in the field but I would suggest NAD basaed on my own listening experiences in a heart beat. One day I hope to have a giant TV myself, and on that day I'll post whetheror not I have any issues ;).

Does anyone know about the successors?

When are the T7x3 should be introduced? Are they going to be introduced in the upcoming CES show? It has been a long time since these models were introduced.
