I just bought a NAD T747 to replace a Yamaha HTR 3063

I like the NAD very much but for some reason i can get my sub to produce any good bass :( with the yamaha i had no problem. I am using a Psb 8" subseries I and a dedicated sub cable

Just wondering what the heck im doing wrong? Please HELP

How do you have the sub connected - do you have a Y connection going from the SubW preout to the L and R sub inputs (Not LFE input on sub)?
What do you have the Subcrossover set to in the 'Speaker Configuration' menu for the Front, Center, Surround, and Back channels in the T747 menu and is Subwoofer selection showing 'ON' as well? Don't know what else it can be.

I haven't had any bass issues with my T747 other than my subwoofers are minimal ones to begin with. For the limit of the subs I have movies are great and so is music. I'm running from the T747 SubW preout to Line In on an Antimode 8033 Bass equalizer then a Y connection from Line out on the Antimode 8033 to my two Polk DSW PRO500 (10") with another Y connection going to each subs Line in (L and R input) not LFE connection. My Fronts are crossed at 60Hz, Center at 80Hz, and Surround at 80Hz.

I had all the speaker set at 120hz. I just changed it to the same settings that you have. One thing im a little confused is i dont see a subwoofer crossover setting. My old Yamaha AVR only had one setting (sub crossover) and when watching tv or movies i would hear lots of bass.....usually resulting in me turning it down. But on the NAD i can hardly hear it at all.......I did however, just put in a music cd with lots of bass and it did sound pretty good. Im using the sub pre out to the subs LFE input with no Y conector...just like i had with the Yamaha......also just wondering when watching TV what surr setting do you use? I tend to use the prologic music setting but again, i just bought it and trying to get use to the settings

The Speaker Configuration menu is the subwoofer crossover Frequency for each independent speaker set (Front, Center, Surround, and Back) and the crossover should be set based on the capabilities of the speakers.

If you have Line inputs on your sub I would suggest trying a Y-adapter and connecting to the Subwoofers L and R line inputs. I find the bass to be better doing this than with the LFE port. Make sure the crossover on your sub is set higher than your receiver settings as well (which it probably is if you had 120Hz settings on the Yamaha Receiver).

I actually do not watch any TV at all...just use my system for music, movies, and gaming. If I was to watch TV it would probably be in Stereo or Analog Bypass mode. The Dolby Prologic Movie or Dolby Prologic Music mode just isn't as good for bass IMO. If it isn't HD audio I can do without the surround modes. That said, I like the Dolby Prologic Music setting over the Dolby Prologic Movie Setting almost every time if forced to listen to one or the other.
