NAD T-175 Vs: Integra DTC 9.8

I am considering upgrading my Marantz pre-pro for a newer model to take advantage of my Blu-ray players ability to get DTS-HD Master and the Dolbey True HD. I am considering the NAD T-175 and the Integra DTC 9.8. What are the merits of each considering they are both very similar in price. I have heard that the Integra will be upgraded to a 9.9 model possibly in Sep. Is there anywhere that a used or discounted model might be available? I know most stores will not discount these items.

Yeah, great discounts are not really had with the 9.8. Very popular item.

The Integra has dual hdmi OUTputs, Reon, balanced outputs.

The NAD has Audyssey curves designed by Paul Barton, most likely superior analog performance, modular design (which is probably a moot point really).

I believe both are Audyssey Pro capable, but I'd check on that.

The Integra is said to run warmer like its Onkyo cousins.

IMO, the Integra is the better deal for sure. The main reason to go NAD is perhaps if you are connecting analog sources. The NAD does NOT have hi-def decoders, and they told me that they have zero imminent plans to implement them, even while having the modular design.

If this is for HT, Id definitely go integra. 50/50 HT/music is a tougher call. You can always add a 2-ch pre to the Integra if you happen to be disappointed with analog performance like some others are. OTOH, some are fine with the analog performance Im sure.

Yeah, if you need a pre-pro that can decode DTS-MA and TrueHD, the Integra is it. The NAD only does the old DD and DTS, NOT the DTS-MA or TrueHD.

A big thank you for the info. Looks like the Integra is the way to go. Anybody know of a 9.9 model debut?

September, for $200 more. Don't worry about it until it actually comes out, otherwise you might waste your time on pure speculation. Get a 9.8, or bide your time by researching other things would be my advice.

You're welcome.

Has anyone heard what the difference will be from the 9.8 to the 9.9?
