Does anyone have this amp or can expand on any experience listening to/with it? I found one for $150 and am curious if it's worth the price. Thanks!!

What do you mean? The functionality of such? Or you think there's some particular sound signature to contend with, particularly with a wide variety of speakers and different rooms that might be used by others?

I'm on the hunt for an amp or AV receiver to power a couple of bookshelf speakers. I'm wanting just a simple set-up that will power a record player, RCA hookup, and CD player.

I came across this amp on craigslist and was interested if anyone has/had any experience with it.

No reason to have an avr for just a record player (and not that many come with phono stages so be watchful in any case), line ins, and a cd player, but an avr would give you more flexibility for expansion into wifi, video, multich audio, subwoofers, etc.

I just sold my AVR-3805 for $100, so in my opinion the NAD 740 would be extremely over priced for $150, $20 may be if in working order and only if you really have good use for it.
