NAD 3020A VS. ROTEL RA 931 mkII

Hi

I'm buying my first amp and speakers and trawling through second-hand stuff for a bargain.

It looks like I'm gonna overpay (because there's not much stuff available in South Africa).

In addition I'm being offered amp and speakers as a set (by two different people).

For the same price I can either get the Rotel with a couple of Boston CR-55s

or the NAD with a couple of Celestion Ditton 2s (not sure what model - they look like quite big bookshelf speakers).

So my choice is between a 3-yr old and a 20-yr old system.

I've only seen the NAD-Celestion system and everything looks in relly good condition.

I would suggest that you google search the brands and check out some reviews, consumer or professional. Both amplifier brands are excellent. I am not so sure about the speaker brands though. But given the choice, I would go for the Rotel set-up. Pardon my preferrence for most anything British. If you can audition them, I think you stand a better chance of getting what pleases you more in this hobby than what comments can give.
