I would recomend you go with one bigger sub from SVS, HSU or AV123. Most of the time smaller subs don't go as far down in bass than the larger ones. SVS has the PB-10 10" sub for about $429 which goes down to about 20 Hz. For $599 you can get an av123 MFW15 which is a 15' woofer that goes down deep but you may have to get on a waiting list for a couple of months. Really you can not go wrong with any of the companies I mentioned.

HSU Research, SVS, AV123, all should have subs that will meet your needs. As mentioned, you may need to wait for the MFW-15 though. I agree with going with one larger sub.

Front or down can make a small difference with higher frequencies, but the lowest ones, the ones you feel, it doesn't make as much of a difference IMO.

is this a no brainer here ???????

I am tryin to compare the klipsch synergy sub-12 or the hsu VTF-2 MK 3 Subwoofer , I want something that will have some good shake to it and will also be able to feel the bass

A low frequency response to 24 Hz is fair since it will cover most music except pipe organs. For pipe organs you need to go down to 20 Hz. For wall shaking special effects in movies look for something that goes lower than 20 Hz as far as affordable and practical.

Don't buy the Klipsch.

Incidentally, you want something that "hits" hard, which I am guessing meaning the "punch" you get from certain tracks. Most of that audio comes from the 50-60 Hz range, but those subs that extend flat down to 20 Hz, will certainly fill the room up with more rumble and thunder. That's the stuff that makes your house shake. :D

Roughly 650 bones will get you this (including shipping costs):

It's what I have, and I will swear by it. People will always tend to recommend subs/speakers/equipment based on what they own, so take this as you will. But I guarantee you will not be disappointed with this beast. It's huge though, beware - see the My System Pics link below to see how large it is in comparison to other things in my room. And it will blow that Klipsch so far out of the water it's not even funny.

And of course, it's a matter purley up to opinion, but it seems like the Hsu's favor a little more towards the music crowd, while the SVS line is better suited for Home Theater.

Happy shopping. :)
