Toshiba's latest sound bar speaker, the SBX4250 has a ton of features, but only mediocre sound.

Ugly is a nice word for it, but there's one thing that I see as a very fascinating trend: soundbars are creeping into the space where receivers are now! One has to wonder if there isn't going to be more and more pressure for all the companies--both receiver makers and speaker manufacturers--to enter this space.

And one other point, (which speaks to this review specifically) if we do start seeing more and more flooding of soundbars into this space by more and more manufacturers then it begs the question if we will start getting a wide range of quality and sound. Are we simply giving people back the plain old TV sound that they've always gotten with a CRT or are we truly providing them with a premium audio experience that will help them appreciate this hobby and the pleasure that really great sound can inspire.
