I'm going to say this because I think it must be said and the review did not say it:
In my ten years+ of experience in A/V there is not a single non-tensioned screen which I have seen which did NOT develop waves in the material within a few years of use.
If you get a non-tensioned screen do NOT spend the money to get a motor installed in it for a couple hundred bucks more. Instead, get a manual pull down screen and start saving up your money for a tab-tensioned motorized screen. You may miss out on a couple of years of cool factor, but you aren't flushing $200+ down the toilet when the screen develops waves in it and despite the fact that the motor works great, the image looks like garbage.
Visual Apex makes a very commendable tab-tensioned electric screen which is the way to go and well worth a look at.
As cheap as this may be, it's still a few hundred bucks more than anyone should be paying for a non-tensioned screen. The comparisons to other electric screens just show that there is a demand by people to throw their money away instead of doing things right.
$134 for the manual version of this style screen from Visual Apex (Elite Screen version)...
Elite M106UWH E24 Manual Series-Home Cinema Projection Screens for $134 from Visual Apex
Put that $200 towards this instead...
VApex VAPEX9106TN VApex Electric Tensioned Projection Screens for $799 from Visual Apex
and realize that there is a reason why there is almost a $500 difference between non-tensioned electric screens and tensioned electric screens. That is a huge jump in long term quality usage.
I've had my 106" Draper tab-tensioned screen now for about 6 years and it looks as good as the day I got it. Absolutely the only way to go.
