Harman Kardon enters the Blu-ray market with the BDP 1, their first entry. With BonusView and BD-Live, this player has just about everything you might expect from a player these days except for analogue audio outputs. They also have included the ability to simultaneously play images and music from a disc or USB key for family slide show fun.

Skip it.

I like the front style with the round side corners, but that's about it.

No multichannel analog outputs for legacy receivers and a steep price, don't add up to much value these days.

And I really don't care about the Harman Kardon's name either.
But that's just me.

That's my 0.02 cents.

What's the video processing for this unit? At that price I expect at minimum Anchor Bay, Gennum, Marvel, etc. If I read of one more player w/ garbage Faroudja, SHARC, etc. processing I'm just going to shake my head.

Thanks for the update.

Retail on this puppy is going to be around $499. I'd take the Oppo anyday.

I got mine for 98 bucks BRAND New on eBay. I think at that price point it is worth it. It does match my other HK unit. NO WIRELESS is the only issue I have.
