Electrostatic speakers have never been the most popular speaker design in high-fidelity audio, because they have traditionally had many disadvantages such as anemic bass output, poor reliability, difficult load to drive, and limited dynamic range. But, the Sanders Sound Model 10e ESL speakers claims to solve these issues by deploying a stout 10" aluminum bass driver in a transmission line enclosure, an improved "Ultrastat" panel that comes with a lifetime warranty, robust amplification by Magtech and DSP for room correction to optimize the sound.

We like what we heard at AXPONA 2016 so check these out if your an ESL enthusiast.

His speakers are fantastic. I might even go as far as saying that they were my favorite at axpona. If they weren't so ugly, I might consider replacing my ML stuff with his.

First, let me say to Hocky that I am glad that he owns electrostatic speakers, but also I am grateful that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or my wife may not have married me. I have enjoyed electrostatic speakers since the mid 1970s, including the Infinity Servo Statik 1, and the Martin Logan CLS2a with subwoofers. While neither of those speakers were visually attractive to me, I was captivated by the impressive midrange of electrostatic speakers, and endured their limitations over the years.

When shopping for better ESL speakers about seven years ago, I was considering the Soundlab A1s and the Majestic 845s that I had just auditioned. When searching further online however, I had the great fortune of discovering the Sanders Sound System website and have never looked back. WOW! Imagine finding a bullet proof, planar, electrostatic speaker system (warrantied for life of the original owner) that delivers music direct to your ears without room reflections and without having to wear headphones! Next, add 10" transmission line woofers to deliver deep, powerful and tight bass frequencies, something that ESL speakers simply cannot reproduce (at live levels), due to the laws of physics. Finally, include a pre-programmed, digital, speaker management system that has 48db/octave crossover slopes to seamlessly integrate the ESL panels with the dynamic bass drivers. With the crossover point set below the male voice, and with phase, polarity and time alignment performed digitally, one could not ask for much more, that is, until now. Roger Sanders now completes his ultimate 10e system with user friendly, DSP room correction (including microphone and cable) built into the speaker management system.

Because the Sanders Sound System must be bi-amplified, Mr. Sanders also includes a powerful Magtech stereo amplifier (TAS - 2013 Editor's Choice Award Winner) to drive the ESL panels. One need only consult Mr. Sanders on the suitability of their 2nd amplifier for driving the bass speakers. Personally, no longer willing to compromise, I chose to purchase a second Magtech amplifier.

Also, since I already owned the Sanders 10d speakers, I did not hesitate to upgrade my digital crossover to the new device with room correction just two months ago. Upon utilizing it to remove the effects of excessive, bass resonance, I have rediscovered my music collection like never before. I think that Mr. Sanders has set the bar for what constitutes "State-of-the-Art." In my opinion, "live music should strive to sound this good."

Although not inexpensive, the Sanders Sound System is affordable to more people (and better sounding), than the six and seven figure systems that some might think are in its' class. Frankly, I think it's the best value in ultra, high-end audio. While I can afford to own a BMW and listen to an average sound system at home, I choose rather to drive a Toyota and enjoy the ultra high performance Sanders Sound System. It's a matter of priorities. Having holographic, virtual-reality concerts at home is more gratifying to me than driving a fancy vehicle. And unlike Hockey, both my wife and I actually find the Sanders Speakers to be quite attractive. We particularly enjoy how they disappear into the room both visually and sonically. We no longer just listen to music, we experience it!

Finally, let me acknowledge the modular construction of the Sanders Speakers that make them incredibly easy to assemble and move without the need for a truck, pallet jack and reinforced wooden crate. The fact that Mr. Sanders offers customers a 30 Day, money-back guarantee to experience their favorite music on his incredible system, in the comfort of their own listening room, makes this a no-brainer. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain!

I've long been a fan of TL woofers (which is to say, I prefer highly overdamped bass). Nice to see that someone thinks they're a good match for ESLs.
