Mysterious Green spot during dark scenes on Pan PT-AE900U

yesterday I noticed during dark scenes there was a faint 3 to 4" green circle in the lower left area. I popped in the digital video essentials disc and it was still there after making a few adjustments, but by the end it was gone. I just wanted to know if anyone has ever seen this before and what might be the cause and the steps to prevent it from coming back.
Thanks, Joe

What did you adjust that may have helped?

I adjusted things like brightness, sharpness, tint, color, etc. All the things that were on the dvd. The things is it was there after most of the adjustments, i dont remember when it went away.

If it was a dust blob, what do you recommend to clean the lens, I have some brilliant eyes and a microfiber cloth, will this do.
Thanks

Get a dark screen again and if you see the green blob.... unfocus your projector up and down... if it is dust it will zoom in on it and it will look like you are looking at bacteria under a microscope... This was suggested to me on this forum and they were right!!!! I had to send mine in for a cleaning.

As shamus suggested, if it is a dust issue, or something similar, it seems to be on the inside, or in-between glass layers that has developed bacterial growth. If it was on the outside, you would usually not see it on the screen and would clean up.

It depends... mine was pretty much brand new when i discovered it (who am I to say it wasnt always there???) so tweeter picked up the tab. Im not familiar with your projector... search around the threads and see if you can do it yourself. Is it new??????????? Try calling the place you purchased it from or panasonic.... Or just live with it, mine already has another small spot.... I hear its a problem with most LCD projectors.
