I've been looking around for loudspeakers for a new stereo system and I found these JBL speakers that got really good reviews and are in my price range.

JBL L830

Amazon.com: JBL L830 3-Way 6-Inch Bookshelf Loudspeaker (Pair, Black): Home Audio & Theater

In the spec it states that it has a "3/4 Mylar-dome, cast-frame chassis mounted in a bi-radial horn for better high frequency repsonse"

I've never heard of such. Is this a type of tweeter? Is this something that only JBL does?

Any thoughts on these speakers?

Mylar was used for tweeter domes back in the 60s and 70s. I think KEF were the first to use mylar in their T27 tweeters.

You really can't judge a tweeter by what the dome is made of. There is a lot more to a tweeter than that.
