My way of connecting Sub

After playing with several connection types. Here is the connection that I liked most soundwise.

My receiver (Yamaha RXV-559) doesn't have pre-out so I connected LFE out from receiver to one of the Line-level-in to sub (red or white female plug). Set crossover freq. to 200 Hz in receiver to mimic full range signal. Used sub cross-over knob for sub frequency control.
Set front satellites speakers to large and LFE/Bass info to both to cover the gap between 200 Hz and Sub cut-off. (My front left and right have built-in high pass filter, I think so I am not worried about damaging coils with LFE signals. )

Sounds really good as opposed to just LFE out to LFE in.

Comments?

P.S. My ears are ringing now. May be I liked it too much and cranked the volume bit too much or too much low frequency sound, may be.
