My System So Far...Need Speakers

The room is 10'x16" approx, actually hasnt been fully built yet, but so far I have the following:

Sony KDL-52XBR2 52" BRAVIA XBR® LCD Flat Panel HDTV
Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-ray Disc Player
Onkyo TX-SR674 (black)

I want a 7.1 surround sound setup, preferably wall mountable, black, and am willing to spend $400-600 about. I would like to get something decent for now and can always upgraded. Want to at least get the wires in the wall, etc. Mayb go a bit higher but probably would like to spend around $500. would like to avoid bulky ones if possible.

$500 for 8 speakers isn't really all that much... pretty much your only option is "home theatre in a box". Drop to a 5.1 setup, double or triple the budget, and then you'll have some more interesting options.

I guess you missed out on the 'separates vs HTIB' thread NyGuy and Lex. A 6.1, not 7.1...

3 pairs of Polk R150 bookshelves in black, total $150 Fry's online only ($540 in store, I know, I was at Fry's Saturday with friend I was helping).

Hsu VTF-1 $400

Total = $550. No comparison with any HTIB.

Or, if you REALLY have to have 7.1, buy 4 pairs and keep the extra speaker (you never know when you might blow a tweeter or something, eh). Total now at $600.

That was easy! LOL! I know this is kind of a dumb follow up, but are there any decent speakers that are not so bulky/boxy? Something a bit more slim?

the walls will have 2 wall sconces on each side and two framed movie posters as well and the way the seating is etc I'm trying to find something a bit more refined. Follow me?

The Cinema Series is the only Paradigm that I really liked and I almost bought them when I was looking for wall mounted speakers. In fact, I would still consider them if/when I get around to improving my other system.
