my system/savings incentive

my current system is:
aiwa csd-a120

saving towards entry level amphion loudspeakers with denon components. any suggestions on how i should spend my first $2000 would be welcome. thanks!

Not a bad idea. Do you force yourself to listen to the tuner and cassettes only?...it might speed things along.

I think you should also buy a copy of Barry Manilow's Greatest Hits... and put a couple of deep scratches in it... that might up the motivation... :D

How to spend first $2000:

two Hsu TN-1220 subwoofers & 500 watt amp.

cheap integrated amp
RCA speakers from radioShack.

this thread is great.
the way i went around piecing my stuff together was doing research for what i really wanted. i listened to speakers that were in my budget then waited for a sale/good deal to come up. i was running my deftechs off of my 10w sony shelf system(got it in 1994) until i got the reciever...

no, sorry. the phase tech's and C/L/R are back home at the old lady's place running off of her setup
i have the 2006's and my reciever here, so stuff is kinda spread out at the moment..
