My STAV-3250 shut off and won't come on.

I was listening at half volume with a pair of Cerwin-Vega! D-3's (125 watt max) and Infinity SM-152's (300 watt max) hooked up. There was a loud part on the CD (the explosion in Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert - Pink Floyd - The Final Cut) and the reciever just shut off. I thought it was overheated so I unplugged it and unhooked it, put stuff away, and the like.

I plugged it up a moment ago and it won't turn on. The stand-by light is on, but when I push the power button it goes out, but nothing else happens.

Help me out, I need the reciever and I'm lost as to what the problem is.

I have an idea that it may be a protection curcuit but shouldn't it reset when unplugged? Should I plug it up and wait to see what it does?
