I know...I ask too many questions :p. I am not interested in bi-amping my speakers but I have a question about it. My towers(Paradigm 90P) have powered subwoofer's built in so how does bi-amping work with these. Also, since the subs are powered, why does the manufacturer give the speakers higher max input power rating? Shouldn't they have a lower max, since the non-powered version (monitor 11) have more drivers to power? I am only asking this for information...no plans on buying another amp. Thanks.

That is a good question. Do you use your amp for the 90ps or hte Monitor 11s?

The 90P's because I listen to music far more than I watch movies. My surrounds hardly get any use really.

You could not ask and thereby not learn? :)

Well, I haven't seen one of these to get an idea what they are doing, but you can tell me:D

How many speaker connections are there on the back? I would presume that there is a 120V power cable as well for the low frequency driver?

If that is the case, it would take your speaker out signal at speaker level, use a crossover to the low driver and a voltage step down then amplify that signal.

They have the option to be bi-wired or bi-amped. They do have a 120V power cord. What I am wondering is how the signal is split when bi-amping. Is one amp going to the subwoofer just to be stepped down, then amplified again. Then another amp going to the mids/highs. It seems like a waste to buy an amp for the bottom that is the same as the top binding posts...in a vertical bi-amp situation. It seems like an external amp really just needs to power the mid/high range and the subwoofer amp should take care of the rest, but then why is it that the 90P's have a higher maximum input than the monitor 11's? The monitor 11's have 3 x 6 1/2 in. bass drivers(non-powered) a 6 1/2 in. midrange and a 1 in. tweeter. The 90P's have 3 x 8 in. bass drivers(powered) and the same midrange and tweeter. Wouldn't it be the opposite?

I bet the bottom posts go to the mid and woofers(which just draw a line level feed) and the top posts go to the tweeter.

That makes the most sense.
