Today at 4:03 PM. Can't wait to get home to pull the RX-V2500 out and start hooking the new one up. HDMI rules!

Maybe I am feeling sick and need to go home early.:D

Congratulations! With a great preamp section, powerful 'high current' amps (2 channel) for high quality music enjoyment, all the HD features, 8 HDMI 1.4 (my separate has only 5 at the back) 3D, streaming (DLNA1.5 certified), Burr Brown PCM1796 DACs etc., should keep you happy for years.

Good news and bad news. My 2 year old was very happy to see her daddy last night and wanted to play with him for hours. So there was very little progress on the new AVR. After she went to bed I managed to empty all the secondary items (CD's, DVD's, cables etc...) from the AV rack. Then loosened a couple of fasteners to let me slide the rack open more. It shouldn't take long to pull the old unit out and plug in a few HDMI cables, plus one extra component cable to the zone 2 TV. The speaker wires all have banana plugs. Wifey said that she'll distract the little one for an hour for me.

Sounds like someone is a Sleepaholic masquerading as an Audioholic. :p

Is your new receiver hooked up? No? Then, apparently NOT!! :D
It's not like it's an audio upgrade. It's just to improve my video switching.
But then the 2500 moves to the bedroom. Now that will be an upgrade!
Then the HTR moves to the little girl's room. Another huge improvement there.

So I sat back and watched the baseball game. Shoot me.

The cables didn't show up from Monoprice yet, and neither did the new Ratshack meter. I do have 2 - 25' HDMI cables running from the HD-DVD and PS3 players. I'll only need one of those now. I could use one for the 3 foot span to the AVR for a few days.

Hey GM congrats on the new toy. Don't let Adam fool you. He would have taken 6 months just to make the decision to buy the thing.:p

HAhahaha I guess I shouldn't say that I've been shopping for about that much time as well. I had narrowed it down to a few models and was hoping a deal would come along on this, year old top of the line, model. When this deal came along ($1200 to buy a $1900 AVR) I couldn't pass it up. It's a good thing I jumped fast. The deal came out Saturday and they were already out of stock yesterday.

Yeah, right.

I'll bet you read Playboy just for the articles, too. :D

Seriously, Enjoy. We may pop up there some Sunday, probably in the fall.

Congrats on the new AVR!

I browsed through the latest HTM review on the Yamaha 1000, and the measurements were spectucular. Definitely caught my attenion. Crosstalk was like -94dB, SNR was like -108dB, etc.

The 3000 may be even better.

These AVRs (Yamaha, Pioneer, Denon, Integra, etc.) can go up against any pre-pro out there.:D

Some of those articles were hotter than the pics! But no. That's not why I bought them, or why I saved them.

Sounds great. Maybe we can play some pool again. ;)

The 1000 is a nice unit too. It does most of what the 3000 does.
