Greetings,

Been a while since I posted but I've been busy detailing cars for charity.

Tonight marked the end of an era. 10 years of solid, unwavering, unflappable reliability. My Sennheiser HD500 Fusions finally bit the bullet as the cord caught my puppies neck during some wind sprints, launching them towards a hard, engineered hardwood death. This wasn't the first time they had come apart from impact, but it was definitely the last. My problem is that I don't know where to start looking for a replacement. I just signed my life away on a new apartment so spare cash is extremely limited, but I know that I will be allowed to put some money towards this in the future as headphones are par for the course when it comes to apartment life.

These were open back cans with a very prominent mid-bass and warmth. I could do with less warmth but I'm not a tinny/treble forward kinda guy. Recommendations welcome, try to cap the budget around $150 CAD. These will be powered by an M-Audio interface 99% of the time.

Thanks!

I also found the IF reviews helpful when I made my last similar purchase.

For around 150$ I would suggest Sennheiser HD558/598 or Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro. Would of suggested Sennheiser HD600 but that would blast your budget.
