My problem is video

I am looking to update and really build a home theater. I am thinking
Samsung 61" DLP
Axiom 5.1 Home Theater

The first thing I want to do is buy the TV but right now I have a problem. I have a lot of video sources an no where to put them. My current AVR won't upscale or upconvert. So S-video in = S-video out. It has no component inputs and I can either use composit or S-video but not both. I current plan is to buy a new AVR to handle my current inputs with future growth.

In the next 2 years I plan to have enough video sources for the following:
4 HDMI
6 Component
1 S-video
5 Digital Optical
1 Coax
2 stereo inputs

I was looking at the Denon 4306 but it comes up lacking in the Component catagory and I refuse to use any inputs on the front of my reciever or TV as it looks horrible and as you can imagine cable management can be an issue.

I don't have a problem right now with the audio portion of my current reciever. I like the Onkyo NR1000 because of the flexibility and maybe it would allow me to upgrade and tailor the AVR to my current needs. I know DVDO makes a video switching unit but it seemed expensive and limited. I am hoping to stay under $2000 ($2500 max) on a video solution to do all of this. Since I find myself always running into a wall in terms of expanding my video is there anything that would help me? I would be willing to do seperate video and audio if I could keep the cost resonable.

Thanks for your help.

I dont think there is any receiver out there that will let you switch 6 component video signals. A mid-fi receiver will let you switch 2 or 3 component inputs and 2 or 3 HDMI signals but I dont know of one that will switch 6 and 4 respectively.

If you must have 4 HDMI and 6 Component inputs, you will have to get dedicated switchers, look at DVI Gear website for some inexpensive ones. Further, if you are getting dedicated switchers, you might as well go the Pre-pro + 7 channel amp way rather than getting a receiver.

I noticed that you intend to get Axiom speakers. They are highly regarded on this forum. Make sure you also look at brands like AV123, Aperion, etc. for speakers and SVS, HSU, etc. for the sub. Demo if possible and dont skimp on them.
