My poor sub has stopped working???

I've had a Velodyne 10" MiniVee subwoofer for about 10 yrs now. It's hooked into my Denon 3808 CI receiver. I just noticed it's stopped working. I ran through every possible menu on the Denon, clicked every toggle back and forth on the sub and checked the settings in my Cambridge BluRay, which is my media hub. Nothing changed. Then I ran an audio configuration cd that produced "pink noise" from my speakers for calibrating... and the sub did work during this test. The blue-light is on, but no sound otherwise, when playing any sort of media. I then unplugged the sub from the SW-out in the Denon and plugged it into the FR-out spot. The sub did play now, which leads me to believe the SW-out may be malfunctioning in the Denon? Any other conclusions? Is this fixable or is it time for a new amp/receiver? Can the sub actually work effectively from the FR-out (or another out) port?

Before I can give an answer first I need more detail. Like when running the calibration disk did u disconnect or change anything with ur setup? Unless I read wrong it looks like u said the sub worked during the pink noise test but other media it dosent work with. If that's the case But u changed ur setup in any way I can figure out the issue, on the other hand if u didn't change anything with the setup then it's a completely different idea I have to think about. Granted I do not know anything about the setup u have or any of the devices functions but I do know sound systems and if u give me specifications like set up choices for the receiver, sub specs (powered or not powered) things like that I can better help u with this current issue

Thanks for the reply JCriggs! It was a false alarm. I didn't realize my bluray media player had a speaker size option and they were set to large, so it disabled the sub. Stupid rookie mistake.
