My Pioneer 5185 is showing green & red bulges at the bottom

My Pioneer 50" crt projection I think just about had it. I am getting greens and reds coming up from the bottom of my tv in a bubble like format. I went to circuit city today and noticed the sony 60" sxrd and I am tempted to buy it. I have been reading HDMI 1.3 is coming out and I really think wasting money on the sony would be a mistake because it is only HDMI 1.2.

Should I just try to stick it out and wait for the new tvs or when I buy an new reciever with hdmi 1.3 will it convert to my sony and possibly provide a better picture.

The 60" is going for 2399.00 now.

There is currenty no benefit to having HDMI 1.3 on a display device. The video differences in 1.3 over previous versions provide extra video bandwidth for source components and displays that do not currently exist.
