My next DIY project: EconoWave

I've been following the thread over at Audio Karma and thought these would be a great match for my Tuba HT. Thanks to Zilch for all the leg work, he came up with a "kit" of sorts.

I'm also still considering some of GR Research N2x for a seperate 2-channel setup. I'm currently trying to get on the list for a demo pair that Danny has been mailing around.

I almost pulled the trigger on the A/V-1 but then started reading about the NEO's and the B&G ribbon tweeter so I'm really anxious to try them out. I just have to call Danny and give him my CC info so I can secure a demo.

He had a previous version that used a different ribbon and they were highly regarded as well. I have 3 boxes ready for some A/V-1s. I wonder if I could modify them to take N2Xs? *edit I just looked at the plans and the tweeter positions are different, so I don't think I'd be able to make it work. Maybe I will have to get on that list as well, as I have not heard the N2Xs. Now that I have a radial arm saw and a big empty garage, I can start doing some projects of my own

I love the NEOs in my MLs. I listen to alot of different music, but prefer acoustical and these drivers shine for me.

I was on the N1X audition list, but now I may be getting a privately owned pair of N2X's to listen to, instead. I have never heard anything bad about these speakers and will most likely buy them to get me by until I can build my own E-waves, then I will decide between those two. I better order some QSC horns before they are gone!

Sorry for neglecting this thread. Yeah I posted a quick summary on AC and I have nothing really bad to say about them except the lack of bass but that was expected.

The econo-wave project is on the back burner for now. Leaving for Korea in just over a month and don't want to get to wrapped up in DIY projects as I don't want to leave something unfinished.
