I just picked up some Paradigm Studio 60 v3 speakers off craigslist last week and i finally got a chance to test them out yesterday. I hauled them up to my dads house and hooked it up through his system. He has two McCormick DNA500 that we used to vertical bi-amp the speakers, McCormick LD-2 (an earlier version i think), and a McCormick CD Player. I compared them to his Totem Forests and i was pretty impressed with how similar they sounded. The Totems had a sweeter high end and were slightly tighter sounding but the Paradigms still had a very sweet and even response from low to high and they were about 7 1/2 db more efficient. I am very happy with this purchase considering these speakers held their own against $3,000+ Totems. I cant wait to set them up at home with my db Systems DB-6A power amps and DB-1B pre. I am just waiting to get speaker cable and I should be all set to go. I have a cheap Sony CD player to use for now but i hope to pick up a Cambridge Audio or Rega sometime in the next couple months when i get some more cash.
