My New Home Theater Room

This is my newly renovated home theater room. I just finished putting up drywall over old paneling and installed new carpet throughout. The system is as followes:

SONY 60" SXRD (HDTV)
Explorer 8300HD (HD-DVR CABLE BOX)
Toshiba SD-3750 (DVD PLAYER)
Onkyo TX-SR702 (RECEIVER)
Polk Monitor 60 (FRONTS)
Polk CS2 (CENTER)
Polk Monitor 30 (SIDE SURROUNDS)
Polk Monitor 30 (REAR SURROUNDS)
Mirage Omni S-12 (SUBWOOFER)
Tripplite HT 1000UPS (POWER PROTECTION)
Omnimount (CENTER CHANNEL SHELF)
B-Tech BT34 (SURROUND SPEAKER MOUNTS)

Very nice! To bad the TV has to be stuffed in a corner. In a better room, you would have better seating and it would help with your bass response.

The room used to be flipped around the other way. We didn't have as much room and the back surrounds were too far apart do to the stairs. Now the sweat spot is a couple of feet further from the TV and all surrounds are the same distance as well.

Yea, nice setup.......


My suggestion would be to put the TV on the closed wall where the computer is, and move the puter to another wall. Still........ you will no doubt get lots of enjoyment from that setup.

I agree with Sheep, I would have left the room oriented in the opposite direction. The front sound and video stage is far more important than rear surround placement.

But, that is what makes this hobby so much fun. You can always tinker with the setup, within set limits.
