My New Dedicated HT Room!!!

I would like to just share what I spent the last 3.5 months doing. We bought this house about 6 months ago. The basement was completly unfinished. Me and my friend did this entire room in 3.5 months with about 2,500 in materials not including the system and theater chairs of course. No before pics because I am an idiot and didn't think to take any

This is the walkway down to the basement. All wood done in oak. We built new stairs and stringers. Built new oak window casings and created a nice oak ledge with crown molding on the sides.

Rear In ceiling monitors

We installed 9 in ceiling can lights all fully adjustable dimmers

All in all i'm very please with how it turned out and the sound. We double drywalled the whole room in 5/8. We did resiliant channeling sound proofing and sound proof insulation as well. Behind the salmander I have in-wall HDMI/Component/RCA Wall Jacks as well. What do you guys think? I'm pretty stoked on it

My father is currently building me my in-wall audio rack. It will be made out of mahagony with a glass door on the front. For now I have the electronics on a desk in the window till he's done

New oak paneled door. All baseboard/hardwood floors/doors/molding was stained the same color (wild berry)

It looks great, now you just need to enjoy it.

The only thing I noticed was that some wires were showing around your fronts and sub. Can you run them along the baseboard to hide them little more?

Also, post some more pics when the audio rack is finished.

The room looks great. I really like the wood work. Just one thing I noticed, which will be easy to fix. In the pictures you can see the where you taped and spackled the seams. Maybe another coat of paint. Or it might just be the flash. Other than that the rrom kicks A$$.

The splotches that you see on the pictures are from the camera. I actually had proffesionals come and tape and mud the room after we hung the drywall because I wanted it to look perfect, and it would have taken us an extra month if we would have done it ourselves.

Nice setup. That really looks like you spent some time on it.

You might try moving your mains forward an inch or two so the leading edges of the speakers aren't behind the front of the tv stand. Same with the center channel, it looks like its a little behind the screen. You could also shim the center a little to aim the tweeters down to your listening position.
