Hey guys,

I just got my HT setup a few weeks back and would welcome all suggestions: My current setup as follows:

Panasonic 50" Plasma
Onkyo HT RC270
Definitive Tech Pro Center 1000 - Center
Energy CF 70 - Front Left and Right
Energy CF 30 - Surround
Definitive Tech Pro Monitor 800 - Surround Back
Polk Audio PSW10 - Subwoofer

I know I have a very mixed setup now with the Polk, Energy and DT but I am just starting and am wiling to hear any recommendations. FYI - I am looking to replace the DT Central with a Energy CC10 too. Thanks!

I gather you're replacing the center because you're unhappy with the Definitive Tech's sound and the CC10 should fill that gap nicely. Looks like it'll be a fine system after that though you might want a sub upgrade if you feel you need more HT impact ummph.

Yup yup.. not that I don't like the DT Pro Center 1000, it is just that someone recommended that I keep the central and L&R the same brand for a smooth transition. Any thoughts?

BTW, I love Definitive Tech but I can't afford them as they cost much more than Energy and furthermore I got the Energy CFs on sale. :)

Smooth transition and timbre matching and all that jazz?

And having 4 or more surround speakers for better surround effects?

I think way over-rated.

I think the main reason for matching brands is for aesthetics. It just looks nicer to have matching brands.

It looks even nicer when all your speakers look identical.:D

Bottom line, if your speakers sound great, you don't need to change anything.:)

Can't say it any better than AcuDefTechGuy, if *you* like the sound, that's what really matters.
