my home theater in a family room

guys, I promised Sheep that I will post a picture of my not so impressive value oriented "put-together" home theater:

Reciever:
Yamaha HTR-5440 ($130) with DD,DTS 5.1

VCR:
JVC HR-S2901U

DVD/CD Player:
Sony DVP NC665P ($130)

Main speakers:
Infinity IL-30 floor ($240, incl. S&H)

Center Channel:
Infinity IL-25c ($100, incl. S&H)

Surround speakers:
JBL N24II surround pair (not in picture) ($69.99)

Subwoofers:
Velodyne VX-10 on Left side ($129 Free S&h)
Velodyne DLS-3500R on Right side ($199 incl. S&H)

HDTV:
Panasonic 53x54J ($1200, incl. S&H)

It looks like you have quite a large room. Now I see why you needed another sub ;)

yup. it is. I have not even included the oversized sofas in the picture. and not to mention that the ceiling is like 20' or so.

Thats the size of the room!

If I were you, I'd start saving for another subwoofer, and a big one too. I use a larger sub then yours in a 16x12x8 room!

you should move your front left and right speakers forward.

I had them forward.....just trying them in this position. Quite a different sound stage is generated during movies.....u should try it sometimes.....in my opinion, I am getting a wider sound stage with this placement.
