I got the mount and low voltage wall plates from Monoprice.com. It was well packed and not damaged at all.

The hardest part was getting it mounted at the right height. With the help of a few paint cans i found the perfect height.

Then I asked myself, how the hell do i translate this to the wall?
Well, with the tv on the paint cans I attached the mounting brackets to the back of the tv. These have hooks on them that hook onto the wall mount plate. I then measured from the point of the hook that would latch onto the wall mount, to the floor. Which in my case was 49 1/2".

Marked a line at 49 /12 inches on the wall, and hung the wall plate with the groove that the brackets would latch onto at 49 1/2".

note the screw above the arrow. Once you get your mount level tighten this down and proceed to pre-drill you lag bolt holes.

Now that the mount is level and secured, Its time to run electric. This was a pain due to the fact the most finished basements only have 2x2 along outside walls. So no recessed outlet would fit. Next to the chair in the picture is the existing outlet that I tapped into. I dropped the 14-2 wire down behind the wall.

After drilling through the joists, and with the outlet box removed, I fed the wire through the joists and down to the outlet. (there is a stud on the side of the box)

Next I cut a hole for the HDMI cables

And ran those up and over as well. Actually dropping the cables behind the wall is much easier then trying to feed them up.
