I just bought a denon 3805 after reading all the reviews and comparing it to others. Now I need your help. I been looking and reading all these reviews on speakers and wanted to try and narrow my selections down. Does anyone have this model or could anyone lead me to specific speakers that might sound great with this product. After reading reviews and stuff i am all over the place. I don't know if I want to just buy from a circuit city or best buy or if I want to find a way to listen to other speakers that arent near me. Please, any help or opinions would be great. Thanks

Do you want towers or bookshevles?
What type of music do you listen to?
What's your budget for your two fronts? Center?
How about the sub and how large can the sub be?

I've just started on my HT setup as well =)

Wanted to let you know that I just purchased a pair of Dynaudio 72 SE's for my 3805! First day with them, but so far so good.

I just wanted to mention that my 3805 can drive 4 ohm speaker's just fine.

The new SVS HT system sounds just about in your budget. If you order early I believe it runs about $1,000 bucks and includes a decent subwoofer. Early reports on it are very good.

Axiom Audio...

They have a 30 day MBG.

Their prices fit in your budget.

they offer upgrades.. so you can start with someting smaller and move up in time..

and they have factory blemised.. which might help a little.

because they have a money back guarantee.. I cant see how you can go wrong.

http://www.axiomaudio.com/m50ti_main.html $700/pair shipped

http://www.axiomaudio.com/vp100_main.html $240 shipped (this would be a worthy upgrade in the future)

I think you can do better with a sub from a different manufacture if all you can budget is around $200... personally I would hold off on the sub and save a little more so that you can hit around $500 it will make a big difference in quality. a $200 sub isnt worth much if it sounds bad.

instead maybe something like this..
http://www.axiomaudio.com/m3ti_main.html $300 for a pair

for surrounds.. just send your lfe to the mains until you can get a nice sub.

anyhow... all of the prices are for new... if you looked them up under the factory outlet link all of this would fit within your budget (actually would probably be a little less :)

Some things to consider

Before I jump in and start making speaker recommendations, the 1st thing you need to do is assess the type of purchase you want. Is it going to be a long term purchase meaning once you buy it, you will NOT want to upgrade in a few years. Or is it short term; a couple of years with the possibilty of upgrading your speakers? The reason is this. Places like Best Buy and Circuit City are mass sale retailers and they don't giving a flying f?ck whether you come back or not. They are only interesting in making that one sale. On the upside, this is a good thing as you could walk away with a reasonablly good deal on speakers. However, this will turn around and bite you in the *** should you want to trade in or trade up to a better speaker. Most specilaity stores that I've been too offer a trade in program that allows you to move up, upgrade your exsiting compeonents by trading in your existing componenst . Yes, they may cost a little more than getting it fronm CC or BB but at least they care about the client and future needs. So just a little thing to consider. Good luck
