Three interventions and an ultimatum from my wife finally convinced me to go. Held in a library (no loud noises allowed), the group was a hodgepodge of men and women, all nearly broke from spending every penny they have (and many they don’t) on equipment upgrades. In this group, I discovered that not only was I not alone, I wasn’t even the worst one...

The guy I mean from British Columbia is from another site. He and another guy from Germany fit these two guys very well in many ways. Not all, but many. One loves 100+db speakers driven by 10wpc tubes while the other loves 82db pannels driven by megga wpc solid state. Both know more about aduio than I will ever know. They just may have already forgotten more than I know.

The guy with the panels has recently discovered tubes! I guess he thought they were obsolete. He is now crowing about how many tubes his amps have.

Yeah, but now they aren't loud enough for him. He has another tube amp on the way so he can bi-amp them. Or is that, "drive active"? Hard to keep up with a guy who will spend $3500 on crossovers. That's more than my whole system. I'd love to hear his system, but I may need to buy noise canceling headphones first.

I guess I'm more in his camp than yours. My rig is listed under member systems. Check the listing you'll see what I mean. BTW He says the crossover cost was strictly for parts as someone did the work for free.
