My finished theater

I finally have my theater finished and fully complete, so I wanted to share some pics. I finished the space in my basement for this theater as well as a gaming area and a half bath. The equipment list for the theater is as follows:

JVC DLA-RS1 projector
110" Carada Brilliant White Criterion screen
Integra DTC-9.8 pre/pro
Sunfire 200~7 amp
Yamaha 575 5 disc CD carousel
PlayStation 3
Definitive Technology BP7000sc mains
Definitive Technology CLR3000 center
Definitive Technology BPX side surrounds
Definitive Technology BP2X rear surrounds

In the gaming area I have a Sharp 30" 16:9 CRT with an Onkyo 770 HTIB and my Wii and PS2 are used in here. Once I have a dedicated Blu-ray player the PS3 will be in here as well.

On to the pics. I'll start with the gaming area:

Here's the theater room:

And finally a really bad shot of the pj mounted on the ceiling:

I did nearly all the work myself and while it was gratifying and fun I don't want to do it again any time soon :D . I still need to get all my DVDs up on the shelves and clean up a few odds and ends, but basically I'm done and I can get down to the business of enjoying some great movies and games.

wow!

you didn't list a subwoofer, or do your mains have powered subs?

You did it yourself to boot. That's almost as impressive as the set up.
When I first glanced at it I thought the game room was the HT. Then I scrolled down and saw the HT seating. Nothing says HT seating like cup holders. Very nice indeed.

Uau, it's very nice :D

But with a theater room like that, why do you have the gaming area? Kids?

And how do you decide who takes the free seat next to you? ;)

VERY, VERY nice setup! :)

You have the one thing I want in my next house. A room outside the theater to be my lobby. I need a room for just movie props. :(

Thanks for the comments so far. The chairs are microfiber Berkline 090 recliner chairs. Each seat is a separate chair - I just ordered left arms and right arms to make the loveseats instead of full left and right arm chairs. My wife gets the seat next to me:D.

I prefer to do my gaming on a smaller screen because I tend to get some motion sickness playing on a screen that big, plus I don't want to put a lot of hours on the bulb via gaming. I have played some PS3 on it though, which has been fun.

The DTs have built-in subs. Each tower has a 14" woofer with two 14" passive radiators and an 1800 watt amp. The center also has a built-in 10" sub with a 150 watt amp. I have no shortage of great, strong bass.

I have some homemade acoustic panels on the walls (some are visible in the photos. They're made of plywood covered in foam and wrapped with the same carpet I used on the riser. I also have curtains on either side of the screen to help absorb a bit of the DTs backwave (they are bipolar). No bass traps as of yet. I have soffits that run the length of the theater (you can see them in the pics) which seem to really help break up standing waves. I have excellent bass reproduction so I'm happy with things as they are for now.

The room is roughly 15x23x8 in the center. The soffits contain HVAC and plumbing for the rest of the house and are about 30" deep and drop down about a foot so ceiling height under them is in the neighborhood of 6' 8" or so. The gaming room is a 17 foot square. Not pictured is a 8x8 half bath. On either side of the finished space are storage areas and utilities. Each of those unfinished spaces are about 8 to 10 feet deep and run the width of the house (roughly 32-35 feet; can't remember exactly).
