time to satisfy your eyes

Nice setup! And welcome to the forum.

It looks like you have a light controlled room. Definetely look into a projector. Hard to beat the bang/buck/size.

Thanks guys,

I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to post my setup.

This is in a finished basement, so light control is not a problem.

I'd really like a projector, but bulb life has me a little concerned (along with cost). My family would like to use this for not only movies, but TV/Cable too. I don't want to spend $300-$400 every couple of months for replacements bulbs.

Sell those exotic speaker wires and use the money on bulbs  :D

Nice rig! Love the Martin Logan's...
...just curious: did you plan for your speaker wires to lay symmetrically like that or was it "just" by accident? ;)
A new panel is going to look fantastic between those speakers!!!
Keep us posted.

I fell in love with MLs back in the early 90's. It took me almost 14 years to get some.

I know, my carpet snakes are a bit too long. I wasn't sure about speaker placement so I bought a longer run to make sure I didn't short myself.

LOL!! That IMO should be your main priority. No matter how good the sound, crappy picture will result in crappy experience. If you're not sold on Plasma, LCD, etc, head to Best Buy or Circuit City and look for primo deals on 26-32inch Flat Screen CRT HDTVs. One of the best tvs for the money now is the 34' widescreen Sony XBR. Which can be had for under a grand if you look around. It decimates anything Plasma or LCD.
