Could you provide an equipment list?

I do have some constructive criticism.

First, I would lower the speakers to ear level. This should improve the audio quality greatly.

Second, cosmetically it would look better if the wiring was run through a loom or some type of conduit. Even PVC would work. Just paint it to match the wall color. You can get more expensive looms that have slots along its sides and a solid snap cover for easy access if you are adventurous.

Other than that, it looks very well thought out and a lot less imposing than many of the "entertainment centers" I have seen used. I like clean, simple lines and your layout is right on the money for that.

Harman Kardon 460i receiver
Kenwood 103cd 5 disc changer
Pioneer GR-860 5 band EQ
Boston Acoustic CR6's

Nothing amazing I know, I'm going to be upgrading the cd player and EQ soon. But so far I am really happy with the receiver. I plan on buying a Yamaha Natural Sound EQ (not sure on which model yet) & a new CD player (possibly H/K to match the receiver or possibly an older NAD... Then I'll be saving up for a pair of NEW bookshelves.

I agree about the speakers, although the height is slightly deceiving in the photo, they are just right when I'm standing. I am going to lower them one shelf down... I was just afraid of the vibrations from my speakers causing the CD player to skip.

About the wires, this set up is fairly new (about a week old) and I haven't gone to IKEA to get the tubing I was planning on getting for the wires. It does really detract from the look but I recently quit my job, so I don't have enough money to spend on my stereo atm, but soon as I find a new job I'm going to get the ball rolling and I'll be posting pics of any upgrades or changes.

Thanks for commenting, the pic doesn't show how clean it looks in person, but i'll try better on them next time.

The speakers need to be ear level at your listening position. Probably even with the dresser.

I would think you would get tired of standing, and want to sit/lie down.

don't worry, there isn't enough bass from those speakers to make the CD player skip/jump

About the speakers, I also have but am not using:

Polk Audio S4's

Bose model 21's

Bose series IV 901's & active EQ

I personally prefer the CR6's to all but the 901's... Before anyone says, I know Bose isn't well received here...

A friend of mine actually offered to give me a pair of B&W's but that fell through, which is a shame... but maybe I will try getting a used pair off ebay after I upgrade the rest of my system.
