I had bought some used cheap computer speakers a year ago from Value Village which were marginally better than my laptop speakers. I always comb through the used loudspeaker market and a guy was selling a pair of Alpha PS1.
Their advertised frequency response is 80Hz to 22KHz, +/-3db. Their low frequency response cutoff (-10db) is 58Hz. They sound really good but lack bass given the driver is 3.5" . They can crank quite loud having measured low 90db without getting harsh or distorting. I augmented them with a used PSB Sub1 , with an 8" driver
Its rated response is 36Hz to 150Hz , LF cutoff (-10db) is 32 Hz.
For the casual listening that I do, it sounds really good and well flushed out for most music.
The sub is underneath the desk against the drawers on the left hand side.
