-he had limited footprint space
-needed it to be taller than regular tv stands

Seriously, it's much nicer than what I usually do when I need something, which is to just take some 2x4's and plywood.

For a DIY, looks pretty good. The "ambient" light is a bit too bright though.

yeah, the light was previously mine ... exactly the reason i didn't use it in my HT. it was too bright (even behind me)

yeah, he loves those slotted angle bars. they're pretty light as compared to the solid angle bars i use.

mike c, your design is so much better than what I made. Mine is more functional and "out of sight, out of mind." Basically 2x4's and plywood. Including the mounting spot I added for my center.
