OK, new HT. Anyone willing to fill it their own "simple trick" or "you MUST do this". Sometimes, a well placed $10 item saves your day. Also, anyone expressly know exactly which wires need to be run zigzag verus straight (I assume for cross over). Thanks.

Not sure what you are after, what you are planning besides an HT setup.

I might have an inkling about the wire Q. Don't run audio/video signals with the 120V power lines. 6"-12" away, or cross them at 90 degrees. Is this what you were looking for?

I'm submitting this for "Random Post of the Year" Award. It's like I get the first part, and I get the second part but when I put them together, I got nothing.

Translation - Submit your money and time saving tips in this thread.

Translation 1 - I know nothing about wires and a "friend" with a sense of humor told me this so I need help.

Translation 2 - I'm trying to be funny if a little trolly but this is so obscure that no one gets it (can anyone get Mule in here as an interpreter?).

OK, I'll give it a shot:

Part 1: Before you go crazy and start returning stuff, check to see if the digital output is enabled on your receiver/dvd player. If you are not getting a picture, that is likely why.

Part 2 v1: The only time you need to worry about the direction of wires is when crossing power lines - do what mtry said.

Part 2 v2: Oh! Ha, I get it, zigzags because it is for the crossover! That's... um... OK, I don't get it.

Part 1: See this thread over at Home theater forum. I learned an amazing amount of stuff and prevented a LOT of headaches.

Part 2: the answer is 3 sigma.

Well, we are just dense, that's all:D
Do you have step by step how you got 42? Mine came out something more, or less.
