I have a Nakamichi SR-3A stereo receiver that cost several hundred bucks in the 1980's. If I wanted to replace it with a 5.1 or 6.1 A/V receiver, how much should I expect to pay to get comparable sound quality (small room, Bose 301 Series IV speakers)? Would an Onkyo 501 or 601 give me comparable fidelity for classical and operatic music?
