Hello, Does anyone own these units? What speakers are you using? I would like to use their A3.2 integrated amp. I'm kind of new to HI-FI, so any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Michael

The Musical Fidelity A3.2 is a lovely solid rugged and musical amplifier for the money but it has to work with your ears and room and music choices. I have this amp with Marantz CD-17 KI MKII CD player and Castle Stirling floorstanders which are warm enveloping detailed UK assembled speakers because I like acoustic jazz. The MF amp has good bass heft and control and balances out the sweet Marantz player. It has a fairly clunky remote but it has no other obvious flaws or gotchas.

For what its worth I preferred the Marantz CD player over the 3.2 Upsampling Musical Fidelity CD Player, but the Musical Fidelity 308 CD player was a revelation again (and would have been a revelation to the bank manager no doubt). I can't recall now what I compared the MF Amp too but it was hard to beat by my listening.

By all means audition it.

Cheers,
Steve Cooney

Musical Fidelity is one of those brands of separate amps and players I have the highest respect for. Their amps do what their published specs promise, no marketing overruns. Their heft and built leaving nothing to be desired. I just am a bit uncomfortable with some of their player;s facade designs though. But apart from that, I often fantasize owning an ALL-musical fidelity set-up, expect speakers ofcourse.

I think MF stuff is drop dead gorgeous. But it seems like people are really polarized over the looks and sound. Lots of guys think Stereophile exists just to shill their stuff, and they do have a lot of reviews there. An aquaintance of mine (who loves Pereux gear) goes into contortions of rage at the mention of MF!

I'd really love to hear the A24 DAC sometime. Upscale Audio had one really cheap (well, cheap for MF) last time I checked, but I'm too financially embarrassed at the moment to try it.

No, I can't prove it, but I'm a firm believer in upsampling.
