Multiroom Sound - Dedicated Amp or Sonos?

Hi all:

I am a newbie here and pretty novice to home theatre. I have always been a sound guy, and my last system was aimed toward sound and upgraded to home theatre with not too great results - e.g., too complicated to use. I used my NAD t 754 (6 X 70 watts into 4/8 ohms all channels driven simultaneously) from 2006 to power my home theatre and together with my older NAD 705 from 1995 (2 channel receiver 40 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 90 watts per channel into 4 ohms) to power my 2 in-cieling speakers in my kitchen, dining room and living room. I believe I had speaker switch and had volume control knobs in each room (which is not an option any longer).

I moved homes. My new home has a living room that I am placing the home theatre in. It has 2 in-cieling speakers (Jammo) already wired and I have bought the front speakers - Dali Ikon on walls.

The kitchen opens up to the living room and has 2 in-cieling speakers. The den has 2 in-cieling speakers and same with the dining room. The den opens up into the dining room. There are 2 outside speakers.

Master bedroom has 5 in-cieling speakers for surround sound and 2 in-cieling speakers in the master bath.

The living room, kitchen, den, dining room and outside speakers are all wired into a central closet. The master bedroom and bath speakers are wired into a closet in the master bedroom.

I plan on using my 754 NAD receiver in my master bedroom to run the surround there and run the 2 in ceiling speakers in the master bath.

I am looking to buy a new receiver for the living room - most likely a Integra DTR 50.1 for surround in the living room.

My issue is how to power the rest of the house, e.g., kitchen, den, dining room and outside speakers. I also want the capability to play music in the bedroom too so I have music throughout the whole house even though the bedroom is wired spearately from the rest of the house. I have been told that I should buy a dedicated amp to run these satelite zones. I have also been told to buy a SONOS system.

Which do you think is the best route? I want ease of use. I want to be economical and not to spend money just because there are more expensive products. Some other issues. My wife won't let me have volume knobs, key pads etc. So everything has to be IR or RF. Also, bear in mind the master bedroom speakers are wired separately from the rest of the house. I want to be able to universally control playing music throughout the house, including the bedroom.

Do you think it would be preferrable to buy a 6 or 7 zone receiver and use that instead of SONOS or a dedicated amp for the rest of the house?

If you think SONOS is the best route - what do you think of the Integra DTR 50.1?

Thank you very much in advance.
