I have a few ?s. My ht room is a 5.1 set-up with an old yamaha rxv 690. In my workshop I have a Sony receiver driving a pair of speakers in the workshop and a pair on the b channel in another room. When playing a CD on my yamaha HT set-up, I would like to be able to play it on the Sony at the same time so I can have all the speakers in all 3 rooms playing the same thing. Could you recommend some solutions? Are there any articles from Audioholics or elsewhere that can help? Also, I am considering an Aventage upgrade to my HT. Will this receiver have some features that will make this possible? Thanks

No problem, all you have to do is run a signal from the Yamaha from either the VCR1, VCR2, or Tape Out to a vacant input on the Sony (not the Phono input).

I guess I should of stated that I want to do this wireless. Running cables between the 2 receivers is impractical distance wise. Is there a device I could patch the signal from the Yamaha into that would convert and then transmit it wireless?

Might try a Bluetooth transmitter with a Bluetooth receiver for the Sony end, if you can tolerate the latency. If that doesn’t work for you, you’re probably stuck with an expensive pro-audio solution like the Alto Stealth system.
