Home Theater Experiment: Multible Sub Question

Love Hi-Fi! and have been collecting odd-end stuff for a while to experiment with a Bass filled room from Hell!

This weekend I'm planning on placing together a experimental home theater that I'm hoping will blow my freinds away.

What do you think?

*******

Just purchased two Velodyne CHT-12 off fleebay, currently planing on setting up these woofers with the following setup. Will this work? Will it blow my reciever?

* Old Sony 110 Watt per channel with no Sub pre-out (Wife will kill me if I get anouther hi-fi thing!)
* Reciever will send to speaker level Wharfdale Movie-Star70 8" Sub with Cross Over to two Movie-Star70 Wharfdale front's and single center.
* Reciever will also have attached dual-two speaker level lines for front and left feeding 2 Velodyne CHT-12's positioned directly under front left and front rights speakers. Set at 80 crossover.
* Reciever surround backs to Wharfdale Movie-Star70 back left and back right.

That's 32" of bass! The Wharfdales are rated 4ohms, so I am a bit worried about the amp draw, however, the sub woofers are again self powered Velodyne CHT-12s. Other components I can add or replace are CHT-15, 2 Sony350 book shelves, 2 Athena AS-C1.

What do you think? Crazy? Or Awesome? Or how would you do it?

Thanks!

Alternative

Thanks to a tip provided by anouther Hi-Fi entusiast, I think I will not use B channel at all, as surround will be in-active. Just dual feeds from A channel.

Thans!

Sounds like you'll need several Klipsch Horn's to overcome the rediculous bass.

Get the subs in a corner, and the bass will be more efficient. Sony's power ratings are a bit overdone, so you may not have enough oomph to make up for the bass. I had a 110wpc STR DE 925 Sony. It was OK, but no where near my Denon which is rated very similar to the Sony. It's only 110wpc at a higher distortion level.
