Multi Zone with Denon 4400

My Onkyo 3008 has developed constant static from the center channel. I am not sure if it is the HDMI board issue or not (I am outside the repair time). Anyway I have just unplugged the center and lived with it for several months now. I am looking at replacing it with the Denon 4400 and have read the denon's manual but wanted to check my understanding of how zone 2 and 3 could work.

This is my living room system which is 5.1. I also have 2 ceiling speakers in the adjacent kitchen that we use to hear the TV when cooking. With the onkyo it did not have digital to zone 2 so using zone 2 caused enough audio delay to be an issue. To get around this delay issue I connected the speakers in the kitchen to the surround back channels and used all channel stereo. This provides an acceptable solution. For movies in 7.1 I would turn off the kitchen speakers.

We updated our patio last summer and are looking to add 2 speakers out there this spring. What I would like to do with the denon is use zone 2 for the kitchen and zone 3 for the patio. I would need to be able to send a digital audio signal from my Roku to these zones while still playing the main zone (all the same source). I would also be using a digital signal from my OTA. From reading the manual, I think this is all possible but just wanted to check first with the experts here.

Thanks in advance for the help.
