Multi Speakers on Single Output

I searched but cannot find any posts that seem to help me with this problem. I have a Pioneer Elite (cant recall which model) with 2 zones. Zone 1 is my TV, mains, rears and sub. Zone 2 is hooked up to 2 Bose outdoor speakers.

What I want to do, which I am not sure if I can, is tap into the existing speaker wire lines for the outdoor Bose and add 1 or 2 outdoor rock speakers (to extend listening area to the pool).

Is this possible, and if so what are the technical requirements of the speakers (I dont understand it well, but have read a lot of comments about ohms requirement with multiple speakers...).

If its not possible, are there any other set up options to get more than 2 speakers on my zone 2 output?

thanks for any input...

Your best bet is to install your outdoor speakers with impedance matching volume controls.

You'll need to post the model- if it has Zone 2 speaker outputs, you can use them for the outdoor speakers but receivers aren't made to crank loudly when you add speakers in the other channels and zones. If it doesn't have Zone 2 speaker outputs, you'll need to install an amplifier for the outdoor speakers if you want the volume control to be independent for both zones. If you use the Rear or front B speakers, the outdoor speakers will increase/decrease with the main volume control changes, which tends to be really annoying.
