Multi-room wireless music distribution?

Dear all,

I am currently trying to build a home theatre system built around a Denon AVR-4306 or Yamaha 2600.

The main room where the receiver will be physically located will have a set of proper loudspeakers. Sound quality is important there.

I am now thinking about what to do to make music available in 2 other rooms of my appartement.

Assuming that I will connect to the Denon AVR-4306 an ipod/PC that will act as mp3 file server, what are the easiest options to serve music from this platform to the other rooms, hopefully without cables? The quality of the sound in the other rooms is less important, but I would like to be able to select what songs to play in each room.

It seems that Yamaha has an offering called multiCAST that could be suitable. Any feedback on this solution?

Thank you in advance,

Best regards,
Bernard

I think that the Yamaha multicast system requires that you buy their music server for >$1k and the wireless receivers and speakers.
Check out the products from Sonos and the Squeezebox 3 for a couple options.
A while back I was also looking into a product from Amphony, that would wireless send music from a line output to the amp/receiver for direct connection to the speakers. $1-200 each.
