Multi room music

I am moving into a house and my HT will be downstairs. There is about a 10 X 5 opening to the upper level above the seating position in the basement. I have a Pioneer SC 27 AVR. I usually use Itunes for music and currently, I have it hooked up to the AVR. I am wondering what the best way is to get music up to the second floor? I am not sure where my Imac will be - probably upstairs... I could get a wireless speaker such as this http://spodesign.com/product/XM-SMA1-K/pioneerwirelessspeaker.php OR I could still have my Imac hooked up to the AVR and then use the Zone 2 on the amp?

Any suggestions and products that you can give me? I know there is Sonos but it's a little pricy... I am not sure if it's worth it.

If all you want is iTunes, look at an airport express. This is assuming you have an iPhone, of course.

I'm experimenting with a Channel Vision wireless tx - rx, on a zone 3 output of my AVR , but the jury is still out on that one.

I wouldn't mind a WifI network of speakers that you can come out of a zone in your receiver to a hub that then controls all the speakers in the house via wifi and hopefully allows you to adjust for delay due to distance. In-ceiling speakers would be preferred by I wouldn't mind having to plug in a small speaker here or there as long as it can be well hidden or looks well aesthetically.

For wireless speakers as a whole house solution, Sonos would be your best bet. All components are designed to sync with each other.

The nearest competitor to Sonos would be Nuvo, but you need to supply your own speakers.

A wired whole house audio system such as HTD, Nuvo, Russound, et al, distributed from a central component requires no syncing, but it does mean running speaker wire throughout the house.

Ya, I'd go with a wireless solution as it would make it much easier for speaker placement and no cables outside of power or in-ceiling powered (tapped).
