I just purchased the denon 4306. Over all I'm thrilled. My question is about multeq xt, it appears to be identical as the 4806 and the 5805 yet , it only provides for 6 points vs 8. Here's the question why, if you call something the same name (multeq xt) shouldn't it do exactly the same thing, obviously it does not, since it only uses 6 points and not 8. Multeq xt is awesome in HT and music, and I guess I think it would be even more awesome with 8 points.

I'm of the understanding that it uses the exact same technology, just your machine does the calculation based upon up to 6 points of listening vs 8 listening positions with the other units. To need 8 points of measurement, I think you'd have to have a pretty big room for that to make a difference from using 6. I'm actually only using my main 3 listening positions to run my calculations, and I'm currently not using the auto EQ as I don't think it sounds as good (at least in my theater room) as the minor adjustments I made manually to the eq. So overall, I'm a little disappointed with the MultiEq Equilizer.

Denon Features

They have got to save a few features for high end Denon models to get you to pay a couple extra grand. It is also likely that your Denon lacks the memory or DSP processing power to calculate all 8 points so they implemented 6 as a compromise. Many people including AH used this feature to take several measurments from the same listening position so that the receiver would get a better average reading.
