.....sorry, only have a shot of the front soundstage at this time, and it's about 8 months old....a lone overhead 100 watt light bulb was used for this shot, thus the orange cast....the end table and the 35 inch Mitsubishi are now gone and replaced by a wall-mounted flatscreen....the components sitting on the middle B-4 are now gone, and replaced by bookshelf centers high and low of the new flatscreen....the two 15's will soon have all 4 voice-coils supplied with runs of 8 ga wire and powered by 4 Crown K2 channels....am only using the center B-4....the outside floorstander on each side is soon to be elevated another 6 inches or so....I like to use hung rugs for damping, side-walls included....the rugs are 63 X 91....that's 5' 3" wide, by 7' 7" tall.....

I knew it was impressive, but pics sure do help with the wow factor. Multiple B4s...drool. I like the rugs too. I did that in the bedroom before we got the new bed. I have been thinking about doing this in the livingroom as well. Thanks for the link too Mule, they actually have a few that I like.

.....J_Garcia, here's the rug I have on my side-walls close to the floorstanders.....

.....I also have this one hung from the top molding partially behind a 200 gallon fresh-water fish tank that's 7 feet long....worked out great with 3-4 inches of rug hanging over on both ends....all 5 rugs are HUGE.....

That's certainly an unusual setup...and I don't mean that in a bad way.:) Just that it's not your typical cookie cutter 5.1 system. I always find interesting the innovative solutions that people find to improve their systems. Considering all the time that you spend on audio forums, I'm sure it sounds outstanding.

Speaking of innovative, I miss old DolbyCP2000.:D

.....Joe, one SVS B-4+ "still" fills some clubs in Las Vegas....it's a long story on how I ended up with three, and here's a short version....got my first two glossy blacks on a 2-for-1 deal straight from SVS when they decided to discontinue the things....the third one I got from a Guy in Tennessee for half-price because I wanted a yellow-birch one....met him at Jackson, TN, with me pulling a small enclosed U-Haul trailer.....

.....I understand completely, Dave....I was facing 80 watts a channel with the Mac MC126, and I had to do something....so, I cut the main's regiment at 120, and went with two 600 watt-rated 15's in sealed boxes "tastefully" applied 120-80, active crossovers everywhere....I've loved the result from day one....I've had three different people say these exact words, "I've never heard anything like that"....hopefully they meant it favorably :D.....

I'm surprised those magnets don't fry that CRT!!! That's some serious sub woofage.:)

.....make no mistake, when I had strapped K2's hitting the 15's, I could explode a cockroach from three feet....but it didn't sound "natural"....the ohmage/impedance changed as a massive amount of 2 ohm bullets were fired at a 4 ohm target....sticking out as warmly as it did, gave the effect of muddyness....same thing happened on a strapped K2 hitting the center sub....I guess it boils down to what speakers ya' got, I don't know....I want only "natural" impedances from the front soundstage, and crispy honey poured all over the front soundstage by the surrounds....must hear to understand....will hear that again....filling the dual voice-coils of the 15's, will allow 1600 watts to affect the cone instead of 800, with the impedance not changing....it's a game of impedances, Gentlemen, imho....

.....suffice it to say three playing in my theater would be fine, Creseiv, if my theater were a gymnasium....the B-4 houses four 12 inch 4 ohm subwoofers, two on each side, one side pointing away from the other, and has a rating of 4 ohms nominal....somebody tell me how the four subwoofer elements are wired....

That's is one heck of a bass chamber! Do you find it hard to breath from all of the SPL????:D I'm thinking you can hit the 140s (dB) easily with those.

Dang Mule! You picked up a third B-4???
You should start renting those out on weekends for vacation rental condos? :D

MikeC might have a huge sellection of subwoofers, but Mulester has the final solution for a chronic bass addict.

.....yes, MikeC....first time here at AH.....what took me so long was lack of camera....I got a real-good digital camera a couple years ago....finally cared enough to briefly learn it, and since, have lost the "download to the hard-drive" cable....oh well....digital is weird against my many years with film cameras anyway....I can't make the colors like film did....I know enough to try different manual kelvin-temperatures for different colors, but don't know any general rules-of-thumb....PM's appreciated....

.....Alex, the rugs are quality machine-woven with strong thick borders....just knock the dust off them every now and then....great novelty items for the theater as they perform damping duties also.....

.....Croseiv, I think I remember a certain review about a B-4+ hitting 136 db's powered by an AP&L sub-station :)....I only use it seeking realism .....

.....one's plenty, Dave, I promise....I'm crazy for buying three probably, but one day I'll run the black pair on EBay asking 10 to 15 thousand....they're amazing....you get sort of soft, authoritative CLEAN oscillations from an HONEST 25 hz up....the oscillations and pitches you hear are constant and FULL all the way up to 80....on the average, we can't hear a pitch below 35 hz....only feeling soft concussion from 35 to 25 is plenty for me comin' out of this magic mini-barn....
